Closing in on a CAP Agreement

G13-033

With plenty of negotiating still to take place there are signs that Agricultural Ministers and MEP’s may be inching towards a CAP deal, in principle at least, to meet the end of June (end of Irish Presidency) deadline. Whilst there are still a number of issues to deal with there is no Member State currently opposing the overall package, although the UK is one of the Member States who have abstained on the market management aspects.

Beirut Explosion

FR20-018

As you may know by now there has been a major incident in the Port of Beirut in the Lebanon where it is suspected that a large store of Ammonium Nitrate may have been involved in an incident involving a fire, subsequent to which there has been a major explosion causing extensive damage.

AIC Fertiliser Regulation Workshop Considers All The Options.

FR13-012

AIC’s Fertiliser Sector hosted a joint ' specialist workshop' for its members on Friday 17 th May together with Dr Murray Hart the Defra official responsible for formulating the UK position on the revision of the EU fertiliser regulation. The implementation of the revised EU regulation will see the withdrawal of the UK fertiliser regulations, and the potential loss of the associated flexibility for operation in the UK market that the UK regulations currently allow.
